Your role

This role is part of a professional team in our Flight Operations and Training Department. As a Special Mission Flight Instructor, you will work closely with our customers and be responsible for training and evaluating flight crew members. Both on customer site and Saab site in Sweden.

Your role includes developing and delivering comprehensive training programs to ensure pilots are proficient in operating Saab Special Mission Aircraft and adhering to safety protocols. You will conduct simulator sessions, aircraft flight training, ground school training, assess crew performance, and provide constructive feedback to enhance their skills and knowledge. Your contributions are essential in maintaining high standards of safety and operational excellence for our customers.

This job will initially start at Saab Corporate Flight Services section. The candidate will conduct worldwide operation under our air operator certificate (AOC).

Depending on your involvement in customer training, and customer demand you may be assigned as a pilot resource within corporate flight operations on longer term.

The job requires worldwide travel and can require extended time away from home base. But the main location is at our Saab site in Linköping, Sweden.

Key Responsibilities

* Instructional duties as a Flight Instructor.
* Carry out corporate flight under our AOC.
* Develop training concept.
* Provide on-site pilot advisory support for customers.
* Develop operational manuals, such as SOP, CONOPS and TTP.
* Produce courseware as required.
* Ensure training records are completed on time and submit reports as needed.
* Maintain up-to-date training aids and manuals.
* Support Special training projects as required.

Your profile

For this role we see that you have these qualifications;

* EASA ATPL or CPL.
* 3000h minimum flight hours.
* Languages: English proficiency 5.

Desirable;

* Worldwide flight operations experience.
* Qualified Weapons Instructor or Qualified Flight Instructor.
* Experience of Special Mission Operations.
* Typerating G6000.
* TRI/TRE qualification.

Selection will be based on;

* Interview with flight operations department.
* Psychological assessment in accordance with EASA regulation.
* Test result regarding alcohol and drug use in accordance with EASA regulation.
* Saab security assessment.
* You must be able to substantiate your activities in the last 5 years with dates, according to security legislation for air crew.

Your role

SAAB Special Mission and Regional Aircraft Flight Test Organisation in Linköping, is pleased to announce an opening for a talented, motivated fixed wing Flight Test Pilot.

Duties will include flying at least one of aircraft types operated by Saab AB, Bombardier Global 6000, Saab 2000, Saab 340 at Saab corporate flight as well as Flight Testing of Saab 2000 AEW&C, Saab 340 AEW&C and Saab Globaleye. The position may also include work away from home base.

Depending on your background, training towards EASA Category II or Category I Test Pilot Rating in one of the internationally recognized and EASA approved Test Pilot Schools will be provided to the prospective applicant.

Job responsibilities;

* Plan, execute and report on engineering and experimental test flights of new or modified aircraft and/or systems.
* Demonstrate safe, effective, and efficient test planning and execution, applying crew resource management principles with flight crew, telemetry engineers, ATC, chase aircraft, etc.
* Be a positive and constructive member of the test pilot team and project teams as assigned to maximize unity of effort and ensure successful accomplishment of the test program.
* Make recommendations as to operational effectiveness of systems, aircraft handling qualities and design improvements.
* Establish a proper liaison between the Flight Test Department and the other Engineering Departments
* Create and review aircraft certification documentation, including certification plans, data, and reports
* Prepare and/or review Pilot Operating Handbooks and Flight Manuals
* Perform additional tasks and acquire varying responsibilities as appropriate.

Your profile

Position Requirements;

* EASA CPL/ATPL(A) Pilot Certificate
* Minimum of 3000 hours total time
* Minimum of 1500 hours on Part 25 Aircraft
* Minimum 1000 hours as Pilot in Command
* EASA Class I medical certificate
* English Language Proficiency - At Least Level 5
* Ability to Obtain and Maintain Security Clearance
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work with design engineers, flight test crews, and maintenance personnel
* Must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally in support of test programs

Meritorious Qualifications;

* Graduate of an approved test pilot school, EASA CAT I or CAT II Test Pilot Rating
* Bachelors/Master's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or other Technical Engineering Area
* Minimum of 100 hours of developmental, engineering, or experimental flight test time
* Strong preference for candidates with documented EASA CS-23/25/ development and certification experience
* Military background

Saab is looking for an very experienced Flight Test Engineer, preferrably with a background in Performance or Flying qualities to our Special Mission Flight Test Organization.


Your role

With your background as a Flight Test Engineer (FTE), You will be a part of our Special Missions Flight test section and will be working with developing our Special missions aircrafts and upgrades for our Saab 340, 2000 and Bombardier Global 6000 platforms.


Your profile

As the Chief Flight Test Enginer(CFTE) you will be our lead in what we test and how we do it. From Estimates to certification discussions with authorities, guiding our responsible ATA and Test responsible. You also will be responsible leading the work with our processes and approvals.


You have extensive experience of civilian certification rules and Initial airworthiness EASA regulations (Part-21).


For us your personal drive and ambition is important to help us build a worldclass team that can continue to achieve major modification approvals for Special Mission Aircraft and upgrades for the existing Saab Regional Aircraft fleet.


An LFTE approval from an EASA-approved Test Pilot Schools is meritorious.


Good language skills in English, verbally and in writing is required.

Your position requires a flexible mindset and good adaptability. The position is based out of Linköping, but includes work away from home base on a regular basis.
