As an embedded software engineer in our team you will work together with other persons , within software as well as from other domains.



We work in projects and you will be part from the concept phase to when the product is live on the market. At Axis the project members are the driving force and the decision makers in alignment with the stakeholders. A typical project takes somewhere between one to two years to deliver.



On the software side our responsibilities span from bare metal through APIs to web-based interfaces, with the main work being:

Developing software in C or C++ for Linux embedded systems.

Developing software in C for MCU (for example Bare-Metal or using FreeRTOS).
*

Using Git, Gerrit and GitHub for revision handling and review.
*

Writing unit and system test cases.



The following would be great merits:

What you'll do as a Mechanical Engineer:

As a mechanical engineer at Axis you will be responsible for the mechanical design in a project which includes design of the product, creating prototypes, communicating with suppliers, verifying the product, preparing the product for mass production and more. You are part of the project all the way from concept phase until the product is delivered to the market. The duration of a project is normally from 6 months to 2 years.



In our project teams we work closely together with electronical engineers, software engineers and other internal functions such as quality, production, and sourcing, some located in Lund. You will also be working in close collaboration with our suppliers worldwide to ensure the product can be produced in a smart and sustainable way.

Ditt framtida team

Teamet kommer bestå av ingenjörer från flera discipliner (till exempel mekanik, elektronik och mjukvara) och ni kommer tillsammans utveckla produkterna.



Teamet kommer vara en del av avdelningen EVP System Products inom Axis R&D. Produkterna som teamet kommer utveckla kan vara kameror, systemtillbehör, video recorders eller någon annan produkttyp från Axis breda produktportfölj.



Arbetet sker mestadels i projektform där medarbetare från många olika discipliner ingår: mekanik, elektronik, mjukvara, produktionsteknik, test, industrialisering med mera. I vissa projekt arbetar vi nära våra underleverantörer och externa samarbetspartners. Vissa av kompetenserna i projekten kommer till att börja med sitta i Lund.



Din roll

Du kommer vara med från början och bygga upp verksamheten, arbeta med rekrytering, skapa en bra arbetsplats, samarbeta med produktbeställare och skapa ett bra samarbete med alla kollegor.



Du kommer ingå i avdelningens ledningsgrupp och rapportera till avdelningens Director samt vara delaktig i diskussioner kring tekniska strategier och den långsiktiga planeringen för avdelningen.

What you'll do as a Software Engineer:

As a software engineer at Axis you will be responsible for the software design and implementation in your product which include:

* In a Linux embedded system develop software both in Linux kernel space and user space.
* Develop software for MCU, Bare-Metal or using FreeRTOS.
* Evaluate and decide what hardware should be used in the product (together with the hardware team).
* Find solutions to complex problems in a large and complex code base.
* Use Git and Gerrit for revision handling and review of the C code.
* Writing test cases in Python.
* Involved in debugging and fixing bugs



You are a part of the project all the way from concept phase until the product is delivered to the market. The duration of a project is normally from 6 months to 2 years.



In our project teams we work closely together with mechanical engineers, electronics engineers and other internal functions such as quality, production, and sourcing.

Who are you?
